Coach Ellis
Hello! My name is Tim Ellis and I was born and raised in Peoria and went to Sunrise Mountain High School where I played football, basketball, and track, before graduating in 2006. I first went to PVCC on a track scholarship but left to walk on at NAU for football. After leaving NAU, I graduated from Arizona State University in 2013 and started teaching PE at Coyote Hills Elementary in Peoria. I began coaching football, basketball, and track at nearby Sunrise Mountain HS. In 2015, I left Coyote Hills and started teaching PE at Sunrise Mountain. During the 6 years of coaching at SMHS, I spent 4 years coaching varsity football (wide-receivers/special teams), 3 years coaching boys basketball (1-year JV head coach), and 6 years track coach (sprints/relays; 1-year head girls coach). Throughout my 8 years of teaching experience, I have taught elementary PE, freshman boys PE, health, and weight training.
I am currently in my third year teaching at Mountain Ridge HS where I have two Power Training classes and one Systematics 1-2 class. I am in a new role this year as I am teaching half of the day and up in the front office during the other half of the day in an RTI-Behavioral role. I am also the Head Coach for Freshman Football.
I have been married to my wife, Madelyn Ellis (¼â½ÐÊÓƵapp - Nutrition Coordinator), since 2017 and we have three young daughters (Avery:5, Sienna:3, Violet:1).
