Welcome to EL at Stetson !

Thank you for visiting my page. I am thrilled to be working with your child this year! My name is Saher Afzal and I am one of the EL teacher Specialits at Stetson Hills. This year will be my thirteenth year in teaching. I have a BA in Education from Arizona State University. I also have an Early Childhood endorsement and an English As a Second Langauge endorsement. Currently, I'm working on obtaining my gifted education endorsement.  I have taught 7^th & 8^th grade ESL, 2^nd grade, 1^st grade, and Kindergarten. This will be my 2nd year as the EL specialist at Stetson Hills but 3rd year as an EL specialist in ¼â½ÐÊÓƵapp.  

I was born and raised in London England and moved out here in 1997, after I got married. With the exception of a year that I spent in Seattle Washington, I have lived here since then.

 I have a very busy household with four children, 3 boys and 1 girl. My boys are 22, 18 and 15 years old. My daughter will be turning 13. I now have two children in college, one in high school, and one in middle school!  I can't believe my baby is in 8th grade!!

As a family we love to travel and do road trips (especially to California), visit family (all of whom live overseas), watch movies and play games. I also enjoy reading, going to the movies, listening to music, and dancing.
