     Physical Education

    Dear Parents and Students,

We would like to welcome everyone to Legend Springs School and hope you had an enjoyable summer. We are very proud of the Physical Education program that we have to offer and we strive to make it a positive experience for all students. In beginning the 2015-2016 school year, we would like to familiarize you with a few guidelines.

Each student is responsible for wearing appropriate attire for activity on P.E. days.

    ·         Shoes must be closed toed, soft rubber soled, flat healed athletic shoes.

    ·         No boots, sandals, flip-flops, crocs or dress shoes of any kind.

    ·         Shoes must have a fully closed heel.

    ·         Socks must be worn at all times.

    ·         Comfortable, weather appropriate shorts or pants and shirts are recommended.

    ·         Dresses and skirts are not allowed unless shorts or leggings are worn underneath.

    ·         For their safety, students that are not properly attired will not be allowed to participate and will be given a written assignment to earn their daily points. A written assignment will also be completed if excused for injury or illness.

One disadvantage of living in the ¼â½ÐÊÓƵapp area is outdoor Physical Education when it’s a bit warm. We will be utilizing the multipurpose facility as much as possible during the hot, cold and wet days throughout the year. Unfortunately, the multipurpose facility is only available a small portion of the day. We will be going outdoors a majority of the time. Students will be given the opportunity to use the drinking fountains during class, however, water bottles from home are highly recommended.

P.E. grades are based on the following areas:

    ·         Skill assessment of standards

    ·         Citizenship

    ·         Appropriate attire

    ·         Participation

    ·         Effort

    ·         Sportsmanship

If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact us at any time.

    Sincerely,

    Bob Cerjak (bob.cerjak@dvusd.org)
